The music of Tilford Sellers was too real. He created authentic Honky Tonk and Country in a world that favors “American Idol” over Americana. His originals sounded like unearthed pages of the Hank Williams Songbook. Tilford wrote with a 1960-1970 sensibility, but there’s no place for that music on modern country radio. He was too good for today’s country.
