Los Angeles pop gazers Split Moon released the coolest 8-track album, inspired by their British pedigree in the late 80s and early 90s. It swirls, it curls, it reaches for the heavens and it most certainly doesn’t scrimp on the volume levels. Tracks like It’s Alright assure me that this isn’t a run-of-the-mill shoegaze record, tossing a synth line into the melody and veering into brit pop territory. The guitar tones have a bedroom pop quality reminiscent of Pure X’s earlier work.
