Legendary guitarist Bert Jansch teams up with his own guitar hero, Davy Graham, for a sensational double bill for two nights at the Edinburgh Festival on 21 and 22 of August. Two genuine guitar gods on one stage – not to be missed! The shows take place at the ACOUSTIC MUSIC CENTRE at ST BRIDE’S, ORWELL TERRACE.It is staggering in hindsight that in 2005 one could have visited the Edinburgh Fringe and seen Britain’s greatest acoustic guitarists sharing a stage together. Bert Jansch just months after heart surgery alongside Davy Graham; performing in the absence of expectation and convention both men joined in the spirit of mythical, ancient ambition. This selection begins with Bert playing and singing solo Clive Palmer’s “Empty Pocket Blues” and is followed by Davy’s take on Carl Perkin’s “Grooveyard”. They play the remainder of the songs together; on Big Bill Broonzy’s “Key To The Highway” Bert sings whilst Davy ornaments in his distinctive style. As an encore Davy kicks off with his arrangement of the traditional tune “Careless Love” and Bert closes the show with his own composition “Travelling Man” – a life they both knew well.
