BNew live album from the Rock legend and his wife and musical partner CoCo Carmel. Bobby Whitlock has not lost anything since his early days with Derek & The Dominos, in fact he has gained much more. Bobby’s voice is formidable as ever and his songwriting skills have not waned. Together with CoCo, they sing and play their hearts out in every performance and obviously enjoy every moment of it. CoCo is right there side by side singing Bobby’s old parts and playing guitar to the Domino hits bringing her own unique style to this duo. Sliding in with amazing ease on sax playing notes unheard of, she is rock solid. Carnival includes tracks from Bobby and CoCo’s Esoteric album as well as classic Derek & The Dominos tracks and a few surprise covers!

Bobby Whitlock & Coco Carmel – Esoteric (2012)

bThis CD is a collection treasure with Bobby and Coco supporting each other vocally , instrumentally and emotionally. Whitlock’s “Roll On” has the qualities to make it a personal favorite like Bobby Charles’, “Tennessee Blues” or Donnie Fritts’, “We had it all”. CoCo’s vocals and sax on “Nobody Knows”, somehow finds a groove that is down and dirty while exquisite at the same time. By the time you get to the last track, “Changing Faces”, open the back door because you’ll need a cool breeze.
