Jack DeJohnette and Pat Metheny, who were close friends, formed a supergroup of legendary artists along with Herbie Hancock and Dave Holland. This is a rare archive of their 1990 world tour, which included an appearance at the Philadelphia Jazz Festival. Recorded on June 23, 1990 at the Jazz Festival at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the album features songs from DeJohnette / Hancock Metheny’s Parallel Realities, released in 1990, as well as tracks from the Metheny / Haynes’ Parallel Realities album, released the same year.

The set list features songs from each member’s own work, including selections from DiJohnette / Hancock Metheny’s Parallel Realities and Metheny / Holland / Haynes’ Question and Answer, released in 1990, and the live arrangements come into play at many points during the performance. The bonus tracks include a song from the shows in France, Germany and Japan in July of the same year!
