t’s time for you to meet London five-piece, Curse of Lono. Founded by frontman Felix Bechtolsheimer back in early 2015 – who was also previously the singer/guitarist of Hey Negrita – this is a band with a story or two that they’d like to share with you.

You could say here is a band that are making music aligned with gothic alt-rock Americana, but this five-some are not into packaging themselves into one genre. “Our music doesn’t fit very neatly in one particular category but I think that’s the case with a lot of bands these days. We call it Cinematic southern gothic alt rock. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, try Wilco meets The Band.” Taking songwriting inspiration from the country greats like Kris Kristoffersen and Waylon Jennings, Curse of Lono, too, take on the style of sharing dark, painful stories with candid honesty, but replacing the obvious melancholic sound you’d expect to accompany it with something much easily digestible.
