Dub Miller will release The Midnight Ambassador, his first album of new material since 2002’s Post Country. Long considered a pioneer of the Texas Country/Red Dirt scene Dub helped to blaze a trail that others would follow and hopes that this latest effort will mark a return to form.The Midnight Ambassador was recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas and Abbey Road Studios in London, England with long time collaborator Adam Odor. The album features eleven new songs all written by Dub and featuring his unique point of view.
An acoustic collaboration between Damian Wilson (Threshold, Headspace) and Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath). Damian on vocals and acoustic guitar and Adam on piano, vocals and acoustic guitar.
They wanted to capture a real cohesive album of our songs outside of the writing they do with Headspace and other heavier bands. It gave them an opportunity to really focus on the songs as singer-songwriters, and to concentrate on telling individual stories.
One of bluegrass music’s strongest and most engaging performing groups, Nashville’s The Grascals have consistently freshened traditional sounds with modern, progressive elements. Their Rounder albums were impressive with each an excellent introduction to the group. More recently, the band has occasionally faltered by producing music lacking distinction. Albums have been uneven in both song selection and execution. The Grascals have attempted to broaden their appeal in ways detrimental to their brand, “American Pickers” from 2013 being just one example.
